Konvekta AG wins the International busplaner Sustainability Award 2024 

Konvekta AG has been awarded the International busplaner Sustainability Award 2024 for its product “Ecological Mobile CO₂ System 2.0” (EmCO₂s 2.0), a climate network with integrated heat pump technology for electric buses. The expert jury paid particular tribute to the pioneering technology and the system's contribution to sustainable development in local public transport.

The EmCO₂s System 2.0 is a thermal management system specially developed for electric buses that works with the natural refrigerant CO₂. This system offers an efficient solution for temperature control in the driver's area, the passenger zones and the temperature-sensitive components of the bus, such as the battery or electrical components. The system is made up of many specially developed components, which together result in energy savings of over 50 %.

The special feature of the EmCO₂s system 2.0 lies in its advanced approach to thermal management. It uses a CO₂ heat pump with the patented refrigerant balancing technology, which is used for both heating and cooling the vehicle interior and critical components.
